Network Monitoring Centre
The 2rn Network Monitoring Centre is responsible for the day to monitoring and operation of the National Broadcast Network which is managed, operated and maintained by 2rn.
The centre is responsible for the overall quality control and service operation of our National Broadcast infrastructure and can intervene via remote facility to ensure that a Television or Radio service is preserved and supported.
The NMC is responsible for:
The off air monitoring of all 2rn broadcast transmission both Digital and analogue.
Continually monitoring the quality of broadcast signal to ensure fidelity with studio output and the listener or viewer experience.
Ensuring the national availability of all 2rn transmitters and relay stations broadcasting SAORVIEW DTT.
Ensuring the national availability of all 2rn transmitters and relay stations broadcasting FM analogue radio.
Ensuring the availability of the SAORSAT service to the Island of Ireland.
Centrally managing the communications between the 2rn regional teams during fault conditions.
Advising and updating 2rn broadcast customers regarding fault conditions.
Advising and updating 2rn broadcast customers during any downtime required to carry out planned work or to perform upgrades and improvements on the network.
Advising and managing communications customers access to sites and ensuring safe lone working practices.
Interfacing with the general public regarding general day to day reception enquiries and the possible redirection of these queries for further investigation.
The collation of all platform availability metrics and data.
The NMC is available from 07:00 to 00:00 Monday to Friday and from 08:00 to 22:00 Weekends.
A voicemail system is available outside these hours and the NMC will attempt a response the next day.
